The Workman\ Woertman family line on this continent has been the subject of much intrest, research, & controversy for a number of years. Very little of which, by the way, was done myself. What little I've managed to do, has been to follow the trails of others, gather data, & try to fit the pieces of the puzzle together. Contained herein is a limited Direct Descendant Tree, leading to my parents. The individuals presented below are only a small portion of the names I've accumulated. This format was chosen from a space & managerial standpoint.
Originally, I was tracing this line much further back, however recent DNA testing in respect to my direct ancester, has changed things significantly. In the outline below you will find a link from Amos Workman b.1859, that will take you to a page explaining all.
Most of the resource for this particular line comes from Brøderbund's World Family Tree discs Vol. 9 tree #3918, & Vol. 17 tree #2332. My thanks to the unknown person, or persons, who submitted these trees, for my grandparents actually appear there.
One final note, concerning our Catherine "Katy" Edwards, whom I've hi-lited below. She has been missidentified many times over the years, most commonly as a Miss Ederds. In the given locale & period of time, the 'Local Hill Speak' would have pronounced Edwards, as Ederds. This confusion has prevented a number of researchers from making the proper connection in the family lines, myself included.
