Allied Families
The key role of the allied families is something that is often down-played by many researchers. This shouldn't be the case however. Their bloodlines are just as much a contribution to who we are, as is our main surname line. Often I find a much more exciting chase & discovery while delving into the lineages of the spouses of my ancestors. I will try to include as much infomation for each line, along with a tree showing how each fit into my main lines.
Creating these pages is quite an undertaking, & is time intensive. But I feel if it helps just one other researcher, it was worth the effort. Of course, it will be ever expanding as more data becomes available. And just as on the other family pages at this site, these families will be represented as an outline style descendant tree. To see this tree, simply use the link provided at each available surname.
My earliest records of my Shook line date back to 1773 in Frederick county Maryland. Unfortunately, the two lines in these early generations, being Fister & Bopst, have not shown their origins to me. It wasn't until Peter Shook Jr. migrated with his family to Pickaway County Ohio, around 1840, that I've been able to locate allied ancestors.
