Introduction

I started putting this site together back in April of 1998 & after a spell of data inconsistancies & personal commitments, it was finally possible to publish mid November that same year. I'm still suffering from a few holes in my database, but we'll plug 'em up eventually.

I've tried to make speed & ease of navigation the key here. With the exception of the Photo Album, the graphics have been kept to a minimum allowing the pages to load quickly. Always a plus when the bandwidth gets pinched.

Family information has been presented in an outine style descendant tree. You'll notice some of the ancestors have been displayed as links. Selecting one of these takes you to that persons associated family outline. This allows you to see how one family line fits into another. It could also be a link to a photo, or another researchers site. Some ancestors may be hi-lited with a color. This means I may have more information on that person, & it's just not presented on another page as yet.

My research has come from varied sources. The LDS Family History Library with thier books & micro-filmings always plays a big part. But lately, say within the last three years, the explosion on the Web, & Brøderbund's info on CD-Rom has been a tremendous asset in the quest for data. But, of course if your reading this, you know that. For me personally, the World Family Tree discs are excellant for figuring how one family fits into another.

As this site matures, & more data is uncovered, I'll add this new information; so updates will be a constant process. You'll know the last revision by a time stamp at the lower portion of each page.

One thing I'd like to add in the future will be an more efficiant Guestbook from one of the new guestbook\query servers, allowing each entry to be automatically updated. Another, as time permits, will be to make available all my Census & Vitals notes, gathered from so many hours at the Family History Library.

I certainly hope these pages, & the many hours of effort that went into them, will be enjoyed & appreciated by all. Most of all, it's hoped some of you will find that elusive ancestor or descendant you've been searching for. If you have additions, corrections, or questions, don't hesitate to send me an e-mail. And please, don't forget to sign the guestbook on your way out the door.

Much, much thanks are directed towards all the newlyfound cousins across the net who have helped, contributed, & inspired me in this process, through many e-mails, snail-mailings, & scanned photos. A heart felt thanks to you one & all!

What's New

28-Sep-2011   Finally moved the whole site to my own web server!

13-Dec-2010   Finally after nearly an eight year absence, these pages are back online! Somewhere in 2002 my ISP decided to upgrade thier servers. I was notified that it would be a minimal interuption. Well, it wasn't; the webspace was lost to the ether world and off into space, never to be seen again. Since I have a regular job (no, this site is not my job, only a passion), and had recently purchased a 70 year old house, my free time was at a premium. My free time is still not my own, but I've managed enough to get this up and running again. This newer version has been streamlined somewhat utililizing CSS and some Java script. I hope many new people find and enjoy it. I'm still working on gathering/updating the data.   -Wm Shook

05-Jul-2002   Implemented new color scheme

12-Jun-2002   Added scripted e-mail

13-Dec-2000   Added the Surname Census Project. A series of text files, broken down by surname and year. Please help make this project a sucess by contributing your data. Can be linked to /from any of the pages.

19-Jul-2000   Updated the Guest Book

Genealogy is, as always, an ongoing work in progress.
These pages will constantly be updated as new information is uncovered.
Visit us often for additions or corrections.
